Programs set up a benchmarking
of the programs from Newton Research
Institution in the UK. The purpose
is to build world leading groups through
intensive prospect of the matters
of world concern and joint researches
of small and medium size research
groups. This new program, started
in 2005, requires staying at APCPT
from two weeks to one month. .
Intensive joint researches
and academic activities have been
carried out by leading scientists
invited from the Asia Pacific. Core
organizers are expected to stay at
the Center for the duration of the
program. They carry out a set of lectures
and/or mini-workshops on specialized
research topics while other participants
can attend at their choosing.
Focus Programs
are chosen through the Call for Programs
each year and support the expenses
and guest speakers for academic activities
in connection with the newest physics.
It is advised that at least one Korean
scientist or center academic coordinator
is present as a member of the organizing
committee of the proposed program
for better local support and coordination
.
