Topical research programs may consist of a set of lectures and/or workshops on specialized research topics.
The program may be broad with its activities dispersed in time ranging from one month up to a year. It is intended to attract the participation of scientists from member countries, in particular, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.

Topical Research Programs are chosen through the Call for Programs each year. The selection criteria for the programs include scientific quality, international character, level of participation of scientists from member countries, and enhancement of collaboration among them. The organizing committee should be international in its composition. It is advised that at least one Korean scientist or center academic coordinator is present as a member of the organizing committee of the proposed program. This better facilitates local support and coordination.
