Title: The world viewed from quantum mechanics
Abstract: In this lecture, I try to convey that the real world we are familiar with is governed by quantum mechanics.
Quantum mechanics was born exactly 100 year ago, by Heisenberg and Schroedinger.
I first explain how particles and waves look different in classical mechanics, and show how electrons behave in the double-slit experiment.
I then explain the concept of superposition, introducing the famous thought experiment of Schroedinger cat.
After that I will explain the meaning of the Heiseberg uncertainty, emphasizing that the uncertainty is not subjective but objective.
In the later part of my lecture, I try to explain why quantum computers are much faster than classical computers.
