주요사업내역을 안내해드립니다.
We study particle physics phenomenology in the Standard Model (SM) and beyond. Although the SM is the most successful framework in particle physics, there are many theoretical questions and empirical deficiencies unsolved within the SM. These include the hierarchy problem, flavor puzzles, Strong CP problem, neutrino mass, dark matter, baryogenesis and so on. Our research group seeks to devise new models and mechanisms that resolve some or all of those problems, as well as to propose experimental searches to test them, thereby pinning down the properties of physics beyond the SM. In recent years, we particularly focus on dark matter and high-energy muon colliders.
Professor Shohei Okawa graduated from Kobe University in 2013 and received his Ph.D. from Nagoya University in 2018. He has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Technical University of Munich (2018), University of Victoria (2018-2021), ICCUB in University of Barcelona (2021-2023), KEK (2023-2025), and YITP in Kyoto University (2025). He joined APCTP as a JRG leader in 2025.
